LookBook: The oxblood fever!

By now you've heard all kinds of names for the good old burgundy...oxblood, chianti, Bordeaux, cherry, cranberry, etc, etc...the point being this warm hue is EVERYWHERE literally! So, because I'm trying to not chop off my locks (after much consideration, not) I decided to do some low lights in the trendy color, and I like it!!! Yeah yeah I like it!!

LookBook: 50 shades of grey!

Well, not really 50 but a few ;)   I'm not sure those books had anything to do with this but I'm guessing it's part of the Zeitgeist! Whatever the reason the fact is that greys are hotter than ever just in time for the colder season...and even though I can rock these shades best when my hair is darker I still thought it was worth a try and got a "Hello space girl!" from hubby when I got home from work!!!Earrings Rachel Roy    If you've watched my smoky eye tutorial I said I almost never use the black palette, so I thought I'd clarify that by showing you when I actually do this black version! It just went perfect with my sci-fi  look!!! HeheheheNo filter pic, to show u exactly what this amazing…

LookBook: When we lack snow, we wear skirts!

And high heels, and silk blouses, etc, etc, etc....   When you live in a resort town that survives from it's tourism -especially in the winter season, you pray everyday for God to bless it with lots of snow! I almost don't recognize myself saying this since I pretty much enjoy snow on Christmas day and that's about it. Well, well we live and we learn to enjoy things we never thought possible and now I catch myself crossing my fingers for that very expected white powder falling from the sky!!!! While waiting I'm taking advantage of this snowless weather and wearing little skirts, high heels and silk blouses (pretty off-limit when it's snowy out there!)   As a side note, I'm loving the winter whites trend, so refreshing from the regular dark palette of…

iTube: The Smoky Eye!

Today's video is about the smoky eye, I absolutely love it for any occasion, a lighter or stronger version would be the variant but either way the smoky eye is a must know when it comes to make up! On my video I'm using a brown palette by MAC and I usually recommend warmer pallets for brown, hazel and green eyes and cooler palettes for blue, gray and black eyes. That doesn't mean you're stuck with these colors for life, I'm all for being trendy and trying new things, these are just the most complimentary colors for your eyes ;) This is a BAD screen shot from the video, just so you can see what's going to look like! Enough of bla bla bla and let's get to the make up!!! [youtube_sc url=MyHHG8f46Ls] Products…

LookBook: Little ideas/looks to get your week started!

Back to Colorado, where I've been calling home for the last few months. This past week I spent in Indy where I used to call home and that brought back a whole lot of memories that left me a bit nostalgic...in a good way. Sometimes I take certain things for granted when I should really be thanking God for them every single day of my life ( and I don't mean shoes by that!!) but it takes a few visits to the past to realize that. I do have to say that I have the most amazing people surrounding me and that I am extremely lucky to be around those who truly care about me. Like the saying "after the hurricane comes the rainbow", I'm ready to get my rainbow going here!!!   I…

Sex and the City – starring the city and myself….no sex!

Shall I open this with one of my fave quotes from the show, from Samantha: "That's the thing about the Brazilian. It makes you do crazy things. You have to be very careful who you invite to Brazil." Haha! I shouldn't say this is my fave quote as I have a ton of faves and will share some of them with you! [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6--aKu_a-c?fs=1] Let's just say I've been waiting for this moment for a long time as the last time I visited NYC was about 7 years ago and I wasn't so passionate about "Sex and the City" back then... I was busy having babies!! Now, babies are growing and momma is having her fashion moment! The one thing I went to the city to do (besides shopping) was to take the SATC…

New York, New York…

I must confess the last few days were pretty much the highlight of my year. As it may sound shallow I'm a city gal and need a dose of big city pollution, crowds, and traffic jams -once in a while- to keep me fueled! My visit to NYC was fast but filled with laughs, goodies,  great food, and Ah-mazing views ;D   To start off I need to say thanks once again to my dear friends Karin & Luis, who hosted me and did everything possible to assure I had a great time. Thanks guys, I owe you ;) - now not to mention the views of their place, I mean really from one window you could see Manhattan and the Chrysler Building, from the other the Queensboro Bridge and it's stunning lights at…

Sunday Funday!

Little kids birthday parties are another way I'm squeezing a look lately. I know it might sound exhaustive to find the perfect outfit for some, but for me it's actually quite entertaining - given I have the time, which doesn't always happen!      My point being, now a days you have the option to follow blogs for inspiration (easiest and cheapest way) or get yourself a stylist (like ME!!!), people like me are everywhere and ready to help the busy ladies out there. Many luxury stores around the country offer this service for free, just ask ;) another tip for when you are in fact looking for a stylist is to match her style to yours, we all have different styles and that is what differentiate us from one another, and what clients…

LookBook: Date Night

Oh how I love date nights, might be because they are kinda rare, but mostly because lately I have had very little opportunities to dress up, in other words to release my creative self and a date is the perfect excuse to do just that! Ah and have a caipirinha (Brazilian national drink) with hubby which is one of our favorite cocktails ;)     Hangovers aside we had an awesome time in the Valley and I'm looking forward to the next already.   As for my choice of outfit is my brand new "tigresa" little bootie (that I have no shame in say I'm absolutely in love with!) a great pair of faux leather pants with an amazing fit, a basic white silk blouse and a fitted blazer. Not to mention my favorite bracelets from…
