Le Méridien Indianapolis

There are many beautiful hotels but this iconic boutique hotel exceeded all of our expectations. In the heart of Downtown Indy lays this gem of a place with tons of history behind the building. Let me start by saying I’m still in awe after our incredible stay at the Le Meridien Indianapolis. If you are not familiar with the Le Meridien brand, it was founded in Paris in 1972 and joined the Starwood portfolio in 2005. I can tell you it carries that European understated and contemporary luxury in every room you set foot in. They are known for their award-winning arrival experience and coffee culture featuring an espresso machine in every room and check in area. (bonus points for that!!)

A bit of history: Le Meridien Indy debuted in 2014 after a major remodel of the Canterbury Hotel , and it’s part of the National Register of Historic Places.  The hotel exists in the same address since 1858. If you love to hear stories (even ghost stories) do yourself a favor and chat with the hotel personnel 🙂

From our arrival throughout our stay and until our good-byes we have nothing but great feedback on their top-notch service and staff. The place is a paradise for grammers all over the country! The modern decor with a French twist invites you to snap a pic in every corner of the place, no joke!

Signature cocktails and bourbon is a specialty of Spoke & Steele so we tried to have a taste of a few of them.

After getting settled and exploring our gorgeous suite we went down to SS for drinks and dinner and I’m still dreaming about their Smoke & Spice craft cocktail. Literally smokes!!! Spoke and Steele features local cuisine, partnered with the highest quality of Indiana’s growers, ranchers and craft vendors.

We started with the 3 board Charcuterie which was absolutely delicious and more than enough for the two of us.

For dinner I went with Chris’ (one of the hotel managers) favorite. The Farm raised Duck breast (roasted cauliflower, arugula and walnut pesto, sherry glaze). According to Chris (who travels to Paris quite a bit) this is the closest version of a Parisian duck dish in town. I honestly am not a duck expert by any means, this is probably the third time I’ve had duck ever. But I am a lover of good food, I enjoy gourmet dishes and locally sourced ingredients. That being said I really savored my dish, it was flavorful and the meat very tender.

As a good Americano, Brian went with the Pagenaud Steak Frites (hanger steak, parmesan fries, house steak sauce and amora french mustard). This dish is named after Indy 500 champion Simon Pagenaud. He frequently stays at Le Meridien and helped develop this dish with the hotel’s chef! I’m telling you there’s always a story behind everything in this place!!!

Getting insta-ready at the gorgeous well-lit front room.

Most of the other rooms are more dimmed lit, with a cozy and intimate feel. We often spotted couples chatting over drinks, it felt like we were traveling abroad.

Le room….we were fortunate enough to have stayed at the Executive King Guest Room which features an oversized living room area with a work desk, refrigerator and large LCD TV. The bathroom has a modern look, all white and marbe feautures, the shower had massage heads for a spa atmosphere right inside our room! I loved the bed & feather pillows and the art wall featuring Indianapolis road maps was amazing!

I’m bummed I failed to take a pic of our welcome drinks and macarooms. Boo!!! You can spot it on the desk behind the sofa though 😉

To depart in grand style we ended our stay with Spoke & Steele brunch, featuring their signature lattes and amazing omelettes! Hubs chose the Omelette Du Jour and I built my own with my faves (spinach, mushroons, olives, feta cheese and onions). I loved the “wake up call” which is a shot of some type of liquor with seasonal fruits….yum yum!!

And the white brick walls….ah the walls….

And the veredict is we LOVED every minute of it! I’d like to say a special thanks to Le Meridien Indianapolis staff. Rebecca, Britni, Chris, Patrick, Ben, Katelyn and Stark along with so many other faces I didn’t have a chance to speak with but that made us feel like extra V.I.P! Thank you!!

I hope I was able to take you there in this post and make you feel like you were experiencing our stay with us.

Beijos,

-K
