NYFW – Day 1 – Skylight Clarkson Sq + Legend Showroom + Sam Edelman’s party

It was 4am by the time I got up and as happy as happy can be I showered and put my make up on! Which totally makes me think of one of my favorite songs by Aretha Franklin…”The moment I wake up….before I put on my makeup….I say a little prayer for you!!”, you know how it goes! Yes I was finally heading to NYC for the most exciting time of the year. This is better than christmas for the fashionistas on duty guys!!

Hubs drives me to airport (gotta love my man! I owe you hunny!!) and by 9:30 I arrive in the city. We stayed st the Sheraton Tribeca and since the room was not ready yet (as I expected) there I went to explore the hip Lower Manhattan Soho neighborhood!! First stop Pi Bakery, a cute little greek cafe. This was about as close to a healthy meal as I got while in town, haha!! After getting my belly full I was off to check out the stores. ZARA was my first and only stop as I literally went cray-cray in there (got a phone call later on from Brian asking what did I do to cause a fraud alert in our credit card…you can imagine. Ooops!!).

I skipped a presentation I had at noon and decided to get ready for some Skylight Clarckson Sq action! That’s where a lot of the shows happen and since Morgan had a show there we decided to come along and check things out…

The vibe around the door is pure insanity, lots of photographers trying to sneak a pic and I felt like such a VIP! Hahaha I mean seriously, anyone who dresses up and walks around there gets the same red carpet treatment, I felt what it feels like to be a celeb being chased by paparazzis…well at least for a few minutes! It really was cool experience. I got to feature a new phone for the Chinese Cosmopolitan magazine and took a ton of pics for photographers from all over the world covering NYFW.

Later on Nicole and I went to meet with some of my favorite people from NY, Emmy and the team for the jewelry brand I’ve been partnering with for projects: Legend Amrapali. Their office was all the way in Times Square so it took us a good 45 minute in the crazy NY traffic…which btw I didn’t mind one little bit!

After a quick champagne and sweet treats stop to  we picked out some amazing pieces to sport on the shows and while in the city! We met Legend’s team and chatted for a little bit, and we hopped on the subway and headed to Sam Edelman’s Party back in Soho – I must say it was quite a treat to ride the subway in our getups and Jimmy Choo’s!

Can we talk about these necklaces?! Legend Amrapali is available on their own website, Net-a-porter, Swoonery, Harrods and other jewelers around the world. For a complete list of retailers go HERE!

I seriously underestimated how much fun this party would be. For starters I met my crush blogger Becky from Cella Jane Blog and boy let me tell you not only she’s gorge but she’s SUPER nice as well. Funny fact, we literally saw each other every single day in the most random spots after this encounter! Another cool thing about the party is that I got to meet Sam himself, and to my surprise he speaks a little Portuguese and told me he lived in Brazil for 20 years (the south of Brazil is known for their shoes, like Italy babe!!), how cool is that? Now a major fail, I was so choked and happy I never asked for a pic 🙁 boooo!!!!

But I did manage to take a few pics with my girls! Oh and this gorgeous model at the party!! Sam just came out with the coolest military inspired collection…cheers with lots of Rosé and Proseco, because that was a HUGE party of Fashion Week!

Finally, I need these:

Are these the coolest shoes or what??!! I hope you guys enjoyed an overview of my first day in at nyfw and get ready for a lot more action coming up soon! I need to hit the bed….

Beijos,

-K
