As we approach the deadline to purchase gifts I want to add my favorite age group. The best gift ideas for women in their 40s and older!

You can think of mom, aunt, grandma or in my case, my own little self! No, I’m not 40 yet but am heading there. And since I’m team prevention rather than take care of the problem when it happens I’ve been using a lot of these products and beauty gift ideas for months now, some even for years! Keep in mind that these are more investment pieces and will take you long ways as well as make a definite impression!

Top 10 Beauty Gift Ideas for the Mature Woman

1. Chanel Sublimage La Crème Ultimate Skin :

The ultimate moisturizer. This has been my go-to for years especially during the winter months. I’ve worked for Chanel a couple years ago before leaving the beauty industry and learned all about this gem. Their method of production and ingredients are as unique and as special as it looks! I have been hooked ever since. The Texture Fine is ideal for younger skin or warmer climate, the Texture Supreme is the one I use during winter and LOVE!

“It starts with one unique plant—vanilla planifolia—unearthed in the farthest reaches of Madagascar. A unique process created by CHANEL research harnesses the power of this potent botanical fruit for targeted anti-aging benefits. With exclusive ingredient Enriched Planifolia PFA (polyfractioned active), SUBLIMAGE LA CRÈME delivers a new customized action on the life factors responsible for the key signs of aging (wrinkles, loss of firmness, radiance and moisture and unevenness of skin tone), based on individual skin needs. Intensely regenerated and deeply revitalized, skin glows with captivating radiance. Sublime beauty and serenity radiate from within.”

2. SkinCeuticals Replenishing Cleanser :

This whipped texture cleanser is enriched with ceramides and doesn’t rip the skin of its essential oils when washing. Key Ingredients include:

  • “15% concentration combining ceramides, panthenol, glycerin, and essential oils to deliver a deep cleanse while maintaining moisture while calming and comforting sensitive, compromised, or post-procedure skin”

3. Pixi Glow Tonic  :

This tonic is a new addition to my routine (as in the last few weeks). “Tones, brighten and hydrate while featuring exfoliating 5% glycolic acid, aloe vera, ginseng and botanical extracts to nourish + rejuvenate all skin types. Free of alcohol and not tested on animals. Use in the morning, evening or when needed. Cleanse face and sweep across face, neck, and décolletage with a cotton pad, avoiding eye area. Created in London by makeup artist Petra Strand, Pixi is all about flawless beauty without the fuss, providing multitasking skincare + makeup that let natural beauty shine.”

4. SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense :

this serum was recommended by my dermatologist Dr. Abigail Donnelly from ForeFront Dermatology Carmel to treat melasma on my face. “It’s clinically proven to reduce the appearance of dark spots and discoloration on the face. Powered by kojic acid, tranexamic acid, and vitamin B3, this advanced formula is a hydroquinone-free skin brightening serum.”

5. SkinMedica AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser :

Also recommended by my derm. She told me to start once or twice a week and see how my skin would react. I like using it in the morning before applying the remaining of my skin care products and give my skin a great start of the day! “SkinMedica AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser combines alpha and beta hydroxy acids to remove dead cells and other impurities from your skin to diminish fine lines and illuminate your complexion. Botanical extracts of bilberry and licorice reduce hyperpigmentation while panthenol and lavender extracts tone and soothe inflammation. Mildly astringent citrus oils minimize large pores for a radiant and refreshed appearance.”

6. Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence :

I’ve been using this essence since Fresh gifted me this a few months ago and can tell you it’s one of my favorite steps! “This silky, liquid, leave-on formula powered by kombucha—fermented sweet black tea—increases moisture and luminosity for a radiant, lustrous complexion. This highly concentrated age-delay treatment protects daily antioxidant and anti-pollution protection, which helps prevent premature signs of skin aging.” I apply right after washing my face and before all other products. Essences are a step from the Korean skincare routine (if you don’t know this, the Koreans are known to have the best skin in the world!)

7. La Mer Treatment Lotion Hydrating Mask :

I had the privilege and honor to work with La Mer a couple of times this past year. As a prestigious luxury brand, I expected nothing but the best. And I was not disappointed. Honestly want to pull a mask as I write this post. Ideal to use before a big event, or when your face is dull and tired looking. “A super-charged sheet mask—with a full ounce of The Treatment Lotion—delivers a boost of healing hydration that visibly plumps and energizes for a healthy glow within minutes.”

8. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic :

Another addition from my derm. She swears by it, and after 3 months using it daily, I can say the same. I’ll go further to the point that if I had to pick one product to take care of my dark spots this would be it! “SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic features a synergistic antioxidant combination of ferulic acid and pure vitamins C and E to enhance your skin’s protection against environmental damage caused by free radicals. This SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum helps neutralize free radicals induced by UVA/UVB, infrared radiation (IRA) and ozone pollution (O3). In addition to antioxidant protective benefits, C E Ferulic improves signs of aging and photodamage to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles while firming and brightening your complexion.”

9. EltaMD UV Physical Sunscreen SPF 41 :

The last recommendation from my doctor is this Mineral Sunscreen. I can’t tell you how many other sunscreens I went through and hated the eye-stinging, the white and thick paste look that was left on my face and the strong smells. One of the MOST IMPORTANT things I’ve learned in my melasma journey is the difference between a mineral and chemical sunscreen. ALWAYS WEAR MINERAL! Look for ingredients such as Zinc Oxide and/or Titanium Dioxide. These guys are natural ingredients that sit o top of your skin and blocking UV rays. While chemical ingredients may potentially harm your skin. Read more about this HERE. Or ask your doctor 🙂

10. Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads :

I started my love affair with these pads a few years ago while working at Sephora. “Formulated with a 20% proprietary complex of alpha, beta and gamma exfoliators (including glycolic, salicylic, lactic and linoleic acids) and amino acids, which are the building blocks of peptides. Combined with powerful botanical extracts and antioxidants, reveal beautiful, clear, radiant, glowing skin. Designed to work alone to exfoliate the skin for the superior glow of a professional facial peel” it’s the closest to a pro peel as you can get at home! I use it twice a week to get rid of dead cells and keep my treatments working 100%
