Hey guys, last Saturday we celebrated Valentine’s Day and thanks to insufficient spots to dine out with hubs we decided to have our friends and loved ones over for dinner. I’m definitely NOT great at organizing a party let alone a dinner party but considering the stressful week I had and my on-going lack of time it was a pretty successful evening! And even though I did not succeeded in taking pictures of my look I did take a few of the party itself and so here we go…
When Brian and I started decorating our house many many years ago we found that one thing we had in common (and boy that was hard to find!) is that we’ve always been more attracted to the “homy” feel, we both like rustic and cozy accents obviously in today styles but the clean minimalist hardware is not us! Decorating a house with kids though is a life long commitment that we might never fully accomplish, it’s a process and there’s so much work to be done, but what matters most to us is to have a welcoming house where our friends and family really do feel like home! (now, don’t you judge our “travel wall”. We need desperate help with asymmetry! Hehehehe)With that in mind I wanted our dinner table to go along with our country home style, comfort food and some my favorite color combinations. The sun shinning was a bonus!!
I love to add that floral touch to the center of the table and quite frankly I never find an opportunity to go all out there! Hahahaha I know we don’t need excuses to buy flowers but hey I don’t do flowers very well, they always die quickly in my hands so I need a good excuse to deal with them! I don’t spend lots with flowers either so in this case I found it cheaper to purchase the flowers separately and cut the stem to fit the vase I had at home already and arranged them in a way I liked 🙂
And finally ready to have our peeps poking around!
Quick OOTD note: BCBG Max Azria leather jacket and body con dress, I wore thick tights and nude shoes. Mind you I worked all day that day so I was basically ready since 8am 😀
I’m literally dying laughing with Andres face!
Now, let us not forget about the cutest valentines of all: The Kiddos!!! Talk about a diverse table, hehehe if nobody else these guys had so much fun that one of them (Cameron) even cried and said he was having so much fun he couldn’t stop! Hahahaha and yes, even though Antonio doesn’t look exactly happy here he was happy indeed! 😉
We thought it would be easier to have them in a smaller table where they could have their own little dinner party (I’m still finding rice grains under the table, I’m assuming the fun was real!)
Hope you all had a sweet Valentine’s Day with your loved ones!
Corinthians 13:4-8 “4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”
