Paris Trip Recap

Bonjour friends! As you probably saw I couldn’t help myself but go chase Bella during her Spring Break. This trip to Paris was her 18th birthday gift but she didn’t mind me coming along and obvi I wouldn’t miss a chance to go back to the place that’s quickly becoming my happiest place on earth! Since I got tons of questions of all kinds I thought I’d answer them all here. So let’s get to it s’il vous plaît?

WHERE WE STAYED

We stayed at the Hotel Du Collectionneur close to Champs Elysees. I liked the hotel, great bathroom and they had a balcony (not so cute) but was nice to look at the fancy apartments and street view. I honestly loved the area we stayed at last time (Saint-Germain-des-prés) see this blog post for more details. It was a much simpler hotel but the neighborhood was so charming, more local, and full of beautiful shops and cafés.

RESTAURANTS WE LOVED

L’Elysée Saint Honoré

Our first night we decided on a place close to the hotel and it was lovely; L’Elysée Saint Honoré. The manager was Brazilian and we felt right at home. We tried escargot for the first time and I was blown away by how delish they are!!

Angelina

We finally tried Angelina and unfortunately, they don’t take reservations so if you want to go you must stand in line outside for a table. I honestly didn’t think it was that great. Nothing different than any other decent café in Paris. I just wanted to get that crossed off my list and I did 🙂

Gigi Paris

My favorite and definitely a must-go is Gigi Paris. You do need reservations, they book fast. Try using your credit card or hotel concierge as it’s hard to book online from the US. They have a gorgeous balcony overlooking the tower that opens in the spring/summer. The food is Italian, simply delicious. Pricey too so beware!

Le Victorie

One of the nights Bella and I were strolling close to Avenue Montaigne, we found the cutest bistro, Le Victorie. We had a charcuterie board with cheeses and meats and had a yummy glass of Sancerre. The beautiful thing about restaurants in Paris is that you can literally sit on a table for hours without a waiter bugging you to free up their table. It’s lovely to just sit, enjoy and relax. We got a table right by the window and just sat there.

Café de Flore

Another place I wanted to try was Café de Flore. It was yummy but definitely overpriced. It’s located at the Saint-Germain-des-prés (our favorite area!) and they have loads of gorgeous little corner cafés, great for people watching!
