Let’s talk fall essentials, shall we? I just love when the lightweight knit sweaters, blazers, dusters, felt hats and ankle booties start to arrive in stores. It’s no doubt my favorite season of the year. Everyone looks great and put together nicely. Yes, I do enjoy summer a whole lot but can totally do without sweaty faces and freezy hair!
So, I picked out a few trendy items this season that are easy to wear and rounded up in one post for you to start getting some fun ideas and eyeing the right stuff when shopping!
My Favorite Fall Essentials
Leather, pleather, vegan leather, vinyl. You pick!! These are always staples but this fall calls for a fun piece, like this BB Dakota vegan leather camel mini. The flounce on the hem allows more movement even with it being a mini, you don’t have to worry about being exposed, plus it adds a cute factor.
Plaid everything. This English classic print has taken a more relaxed cut approach such as the ex-boyfriend plaid blazer and a cigarette pant with a ruffle detail hem. The blazer is oversized and totally inspired by the clothes we always borrow from the boys (but not really!!). They look awesome with boyfriend jeans, pointy flat booties (or pumps).
The pant fits TTS (true to size) and is a high waist. If you’re between sizes I suggest going up a size since they can feel snug. I would pair Blazer and pant together for a polished look and definitely wear heels (tan or nude preferably) to elongate your figure as both of these styles together can make you look a bit shorter!
Fuzzy Sweaters. We can’t talk fall essentials without putting sweaters in the list. I like them all: oversized, cropped, snug, fuzzy, lightweight, loose turtleneck, you name it. This season, however, I’m seeing a big trend towards textured ones. Boucle, popcorn, fuzzy, etc. The Shrug It Off sweater can be worn off the shoulder or not, I adore the balloon sleeves that give it a more flirty and girly vibe. Also, cheers for texture and novelty looks. Fits a bit small, if you want the off the shoulder effect go up a size 🙂 I styled it with a pair of cut-offs (since it was about 90 degrees out) but it goes well with jeans, leather leggings or a pencil skirt. Under overalls and even with cute joggers!
