Scrambling to find something festive to wear for the holidays? You aren’t alone. This season is undeniably busy, making it hard to find time to pull together outfit ideas and actually execute them (aka hit the “buy now” button.)
I have such a special spot in my heart for this time of year—getting to spend more time with family and friends, celebrating the holidays, and making new memories will always take the cake. Another bonus to this season is that it offers up the perfect excuse to treat yourself to a new, festive look.
If you’re on the hunt for some holiday outfit ideas, this roundup has everything you need to find your ideal match. Below, I’ve put together five different looks that would work for so many different occasions. I also included several pieces for each look so you can shop within your budget.
There are few patterns and fabrics that scream the holiday season quite like tweed. I have an ongoing love for tweed pieces and think they make such a classic and timeless addition to a wardrobe.
This look is so girly and fun—a great option for those of you who are attending a seasonal play or The Nutcracker.
I styled this dress with knee high tights (a must-have during the winter) and a simple pair of ballet flats. You could take things up another notch by adding jewelry or a headband.
Sequin skirts are everywhere this season, and I am totally here for it. One thing I love about these shiny skirts is that they serve as a holiday-ready look all on their own. In other words, it doesn’t really matter what you pair one with because they make such a statement.
I wanted to keep this outfit neutral so I paired my skirt with a tan bodysuit (this one is my go-to) and a cream-colored wool coat. Then I finished the look off with a pair of tan pumps. The result? A winter white-inspired outfit that looks polished and elevated.
If you’re hesitant to splurge on pieces that feel too “holiday like” then this outfit is the ideal option for you. Almost all of us have a little black dress in our closets already (and if you don’t, I linked some great finds below) so this look is super easy to put together.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about wearing neutrals, but incorporating some pops of red during Christmas time is a no-brainer. To pull this off, just slip a red blazer or coat over your black dress. I’d recommend keeping your heels neutral so the look feels well-balanced and not too over the top.
Going to the ballet? This should be your go-to look. I absolutely adore this ruffled mini dress—it just feels so unique and special. I also appreciate that it just takes one piece (plus shoes) to look put together and ready to celebrate.
I added a black scrunchie (you could also try a bow) to my hair to keep the vibe feminine and party-ready.
For a more causal holiday outfit idea, reach for your favorite pair of denim and a black bodysuit. Adding a trench coat as an additional layer can pull the whole look together (while also keeping you warm!)
Also, my shoes are the real star of this outfit because the jeweled embellishment detail gives them a seasonal feel. Sometimes all you need to make an outfit look holiday-appropriate is a cheerful pair of shoes or a fun accessory.
