I’m fully believing that navy is the new black these days — anyone else?! The classic color can be styled so many ways, especially when transitioning items into spring. I know I’m not the only one who is itching for warmer weather by hanging up my winter coats in preparation for the spring. Sure, this color is a staple year-round, but there’s something about it that feels particularly light and fresh as we inch into a new season.
My go-to during transitional weather is layering pieces, so I wanted to take this simple white tee and my favorite navy trousers and style them in three ways (which work for every occasion you might have!) Below, find outfit inspiration for pairing navy with every look you could possibly dream up, whether you’re heading on a date night or you’re going to the office.
How to Style a Tee With Trousers
Keep it Simple
I decided to pick up the matching blazer when I found these tailored pants. This outfit is ideal for the office, but somehow it’s still so comfortable. The monochromatic look of the pants, blazer, shoes, and bag provides a clean and elevated slate — one that also transitions seamlessly to a post-work happy hour or dinner!
I incorporated accents of brown with my belt and sunglasses — both which add dimension while keeping this look chic and timeless. The jacket can easily be tossed over your shoulders if it gets too warm or if you want it to be more casual for a lunch break. I know I’ll be able to wear this combo for years to come, as well as through the many seasons.
Make it Casual
This has been my go-to uniform as of late — it’s easy to throw on, it’s comfortable, and it features layers that can accommodate various temperatures. I added the comfiest baseball hat and cashmere sweater to pull this look together and then topped things off with the matching blazer. The best part is that you can shed the blazer and/or the sweater if things heat up throughout the day.
For shoes, I went with these sleek Oxford-style slip ons, but white sneakers, chunky loafers, heels, or ballet flats would also work. The options to make this look your own are seemingly endless, and while nothing about it is bold, the quiet luxury vibes are what make it special.
Add Texture
