Mansur Gavriel Mini Mini Lady Bag Review

You guys are always asking for reviews and more affordable options to my handbags, that’s why I thought I’d put together little reviews so you can make a more educated purchase decision as well as read through my FAQ!

Let’s start with the Mansur Gavriel Mini Mini Lady Bag. Note the size I have and pictured it’s the double mini. I’ll be linking the mini as well if you need a bit more room 🙂

What is it made of?

Italian vegetable tanned cammello leather mini mini lady bag with a light pink matte patent interior. Interior pocket and detachable adjustable shoulder strap. Made in Italy.

Does it come in different color combinations?

Do the bags soften?

MG uses different leathers for the bags that play a part in the look and feel of the bags. I have a lambskin leather one (protea mini – pictured HERE) that is buttery soft and has more of a slouchy look.

The Lady Bag is made with Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather and it’s supposed to be sturdy and structured like their bucket bags, so they won’t soften.

Do they change color? How do I care for them?

This is the same leather LV uses on the trims and straps of their canvas bags, notice they darken with time.

Where can I purchase this bag?

MG is widely accessible! Here in the US, they’re available in almost all major luxury retail stores such as Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue to name a couple as well as online at Shopbop, Farfetch, and Net-a-Porter.

What’s the price point?

I love its price point. All bags are under $1,000 and the mini mini versions being under $500. Which is pretty great for luxury designer leather goods.

Are they worth the hype?

The bags are beautifully made and pinterest worthy. In my opnion they’re the same top-notch quality than $2k – $5K handbags. I like that their style is pretty classic and timeless and will last a lifetime.

Cons:

The price can be steep depending on your budget. Scratches easily, even though that’s not a big deal for me I know some ladies like their bags to look pristine over time! The flap can be annoying because you have to pull the leather straps through the loop to close the bag so mine is always open. Also not a deal-breaker for me but it is something I wish they would tweak on the design.

What fits in the bag?

I usually carry my large phone, a cardholder, car keys and a lip combo. It fits a notepad or small engagement calendar. If you need a bag for work I would suggest the Mini Lady Bag. The Mini Mini is more of a lifestyle bag to carry the essentials only.
