5 Items to Take Summer to Fall

post featured image

It’s crazy to think that August is almost over and we are slowly moving into the fall season! Although this summer flew by, we’re excited for fall over here and for the weather to cool down a bit. Who doesn’t love the cozy feel that fall brings? But, most importantly, we are so excited for the fall fashion. A new season of fashion is always exciting, but fall brings cozy sweaters, coats, chic boots, and so much more. Now, we’re not getting ahead of ourselves since the weather is still mostly in the 80s, but if you want to incorporate more of that fall style into your wardrobe now, we got you covered. We put together 5 items you can take from summer to fall so your transition between seasons is seamless and stylish.

Sleeveless Turtleneck Top

While we’re not exactly at the point where we’re throwing on chunky sweaters, we’re finding ways to get a similar look that’s appropriate for mild to warm weather. Our favorite? A sleeveless turtleneck. We’re not talking a full-on thick, turtleneck sweater, but more of a lightweight top with a mock neck or thin turtleneck. For summertime, this can easily be styled with shorts and sandals for an easy and classic look that brings in some of that fall style. When the weather gets a little colder, layer it up with a blazer or cardigan to complete the look.

Knit Midi Dress

Start hanging up your bright summer sundresses and reach for a knit midi dress instead. The beauty of a knit midi is that you can find so many different variations of this dress. Some fabrics are thicker, some are lighter, you can grab one with sleeves or a spaghetti strap. You can’t go wrong with this staple piece in your wardrobe. For summer, wear it with chunky slides or heeled sandals. For colder weather, try pairing it with a dark-denim jacket and tall boots.

Graphic Tees

Depending on your style, you really can find any type of graphic tee you’ll love. However, we specifically have our eyes on Annie Bing graphic tees for this summer to fall transition. These tees are edgy, usually include darker colors, and are perfect to bring in the fall vibe. We’ve tried Annie Bing tee’s on and let us tell you… so worth it! Instead of pairing your graphic tee with a pair of shorts (which is still always a great go-to) try something different and wear it over a midi skirt or tuck it into some joggers and chunky sneakers. Don’t be afraid to dress up your tees this season!

Mules and Loafers

We’re still reaching for our slides and sandals, but definitely are ready to bring some mules and loafers into the mix. The best part about both of these shoes is that they feel very fall but are light enough to wear now and before the weather fully cools down. We love a good pair of boots, but those will have to wait until the temperature drops! Try your mules and loafers styled with a dress or shorts for a transitional look that’s the perfect blend of summer and fall.

Neutral Bodysuits

This particular piece really can work for all seasons, but we find ourselves gravitating toward it more during this summer to fall transition. Fall fashion is all about layering since typically the weather can go from freezing to mild in a few hours. Our solution? Neutral bodysuits. These work with any type of outfit and can either be the star piece of your look or a simple basic that complements the rest of your outfit. Invest in a few quality, comfortable bodysuits that you’ll be reaching to for that extra layer. We’re loving bodysuits from Abercrombie!

You can’t go wrong with any of these pieces, and luckily, there are so many different variations depending on your personal style! Find a brand or look you love and go for it! What are your staple summer to fall transitional pieces? Let us know in the comments!
