When we think of style we rarely think of safety after all what does one thing has to do with the other? Well they can go together very well and help us in ways we didn’t even know we needed. Now what does safety has to do with gorgeous handbags again? Let me give a couple of facts: in 2014, 9.2 million women were victims of identity theft. In 2015, 2.7 million people were victims of violent crimes. Aubry Lane handbags come with technology that give women the opportunity to track their bags if stolen, and come with a built-in cell phone/SOS device in case of an emergency. An example of this would be if a person with their bags were in danger, they could hit the SOS button and a text message would go out to up to five contacts showing their location and then it would actually call the people on that list. This technology is seamlessly integrated into designer bags, focused on a clean and beautiful appearance to accentuate any woman’s look.

I do love to support our local creative minds but what got my attention about Aubry Lane was truly how they have women’s safety in mind but don’t want to compromise style. I don’t know about you but I have found myself in a scary situation a few years ago when I felt like I was being followed at a grocery store parking lot with my (then baby) daughter. This guy stopped by and I thought he wanted my parking spot. I took notice and told him I was about to leave. He then started to say crazy inappropriate things. It took me a minute to realize what was happening and I started to yell at him and he took off. I called 911 but since the guy was no longer in the scene I was told there was nothing they could do and they took note of the car’s license plate after I basically begged telling them this guy could be harassing women in vulnerable situations (in my case with my baby in the grocery cart). Anyway, thinking back I could have just pressed a button.

I’m not a techy person so I was happy to hear the company is open to walk you through setting up the devices. They are simple but just in case, it’s good to know there’s an amazing customer care behind the brand!
