Style Travels: New Buffalo City Beach – Michigan

post featured image

Hello lovelies! I happen to have a whole lot of news starting with the latest and probably the sweetest, I accepted a job offer at Saks Fifth Avenue again and am currently organizing myself to get back to work and make my old clients happy and obviously I’m looking forward to meet new ones πŸ˜‰

Another piece of news is that I have invested a lot on the blog and that’s why I haven’t been able to work much in here lately, it’s hosted now by a more efficient site and that means faster and friendlier ways of leaving comments and even an easier way to subscribe to the blog. I’m really excited about this! So please take the time to subscribe, it helps me A LOT!!!!

In the mean time I have family visiting and haven’t had much time to work here. So as a fun opener I’ll be posting about one of our Midwest favorite getaways, the New Buffalo Beach in Michigan. We usually go up there on our anniversary in June, it’s a nice time to visit, the weather is not too hot (mind you, the water is frigid…especially for a Brazilian girl like me!) and the small town feel is the best.

“New Buffalo is located at the mouth of the Galien River on Michigan’s west coast just north of the Indiana border. Voted BEST in 2012 by NW Indiana Times It is about a 90-minute drive from Chicago and the first stop for many visitors to Michigan entering from Indiana on eastbound Interstate 94″ Source: newbuffalo.com

“New Buffalo greets visitors with a large and modern refuge harbor, an around-the-clock public boat launch, and a full service transient dock facility. There are plenty of shops, places to stay, places to eat, and recreational opportunities β€” making it an ideal place to live or play.”

NB2 Outfit choice for a day at the beach:
Free People beach coverup; Burberry jean shorts; Arezzo sandals; Stella and Dot beach bag!
My husband’s parents are both from Michigan which makes it for a sweeter visit for Brian, he has a ton of memories from his childhood in there. So I happened to tell friends about this little town and guess what? They’re all in complete awe with the beach town and many visited back a few times and plan to go back as much as possible in the summer time! So worth the time πŸ™‚

Brazil won the Confederation’s Cup against Spain on that very day and here I am wearing my “amarelinha” as a good Brazilian πŸ˜‰

NB7 NB6Our Favorite places to eat are The Stray Dog and Brewsters Italian Cafe

Our Favorite spot to stay is the Lake Country Inn which has great prices and the best rooms in town! We’ve stayed in the yellow one and this last time we got the green!

Much cheaper than the Harbor Hotel which is the main hotel that faces the Marina and just as awesome!

Hope you guys enjoyed this little “come back” post and stick around for more news coming soon πŸ˜‰

    • Isn’t it?! My in-laws are from the area and we try and go back once a year or so, when we can! It’s a great little beach escape and if we make reservations soon enough we can get great deals πŸ™‚ I love the Country Inn, always try to stay there!! Thanks for all the sweet comments Charity!
