There have been some great debates (over my mother-in-law’s Sundayย dinner table) about colors of clothes that goes better with a certain color of skin. Have you guys read or even heard of the Color me Beautiful book?? If not, it’s basically a guide to help you choose colors that make you look your best based on the the “season” that your skin color fits in. I know it sounds confusing but it’s actually a very interesting approach, except it’s pretty limited and I honestly don’t think we all fit into one category or “season” alone.
I prefer the approach of warm, neutral and cool skin tones. For instance I’m a neutral, meaning I can wear warm or cool shades and look perfectly fine. Some skin tones are a true warm and a true cool which simply means they look their best in those warmer or cooler shades but it doesn’t mean they wont look great in a tone different than their skin color.
You might be wondering where is she going with all of this? Well, I’ve argued a ton that most people look amazing in white (which is the absence of color) but books that talk about seasons will disagree with me (they limit that to the “winter” people). I say heck with the books and seasons, style and fashion should be fun and experimental and if you feel amazing in white don’t let no books tell you different! There, I said it!!! To prove my point I’m styling this soft and lovely white sweater dress my favorite way!
