The Best SPF for Spring and Beyond

Now that spring is around the corner, we’re taking stock of our SPF. While we always wear sunscreen (even during the winter), more time in the sun means we want to be prepped and ready with a multitude of different SPF for every occasion. The downside to shopping sunscreen? There are SO. many. options! It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the array of different products, which is why we’re sharing our top 5 favorite sunscreens in today’s post! These sunscreens have been tested and are loved by the KSD Team and are perfect if you’re looking for a new SPF (or maybe a few).

Elta MD Broad-Spectrum Tinted SPF

If we had to choose one SPF forever this would be it! This product is tried and true and SO good. It has the most beautiful, natural finish and gives the skin a healthy glow. It’s especially great for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin since it’s made of healing niacinamide which alleviates inflammation to calm your acne flare-ups and helps decrease signs of hyperpigmentation. It also has a ton of antioxidants that combat skin-aging radicals associated with ultraviolet and infrared radiation. It can be worn under makeup or by itself and is a great option if you need sunscreen that can do it all.

Alastin Hydratint Pro Mineral Sunscreen

This is a mineral sunscreen that gives a bit of coverage with a beautiful finish. It still feels lightweight and easy to wear all day while evening out the skin tone giving it a glowing tint. This sunscreen also has powerful antioxidants that protect the skin from pollution, IR rays, and blue light. While we do love a mineral sunscreen, sometimes it can leave a white residue on the skin but we have not run into that issue with this product! If you’re looking for a glowy, mineral-based SPF, we love this one!

Ilia C Beyond Tripe Serum SPF 40

This product is a vitamin C serum that also has an SPF in it! If you’re looking for the benefits of a serum but also want some sun protection, this is a great option. While this SPF is tinted, the coverage is very light making it perfect to wear underneath makeup. It definitely feels lightweight and more like a serum that sits comfortably on your skin without getting greasy. You’ll also find niacinamide inside which boosts skin hydration, reduces redness, and evens out skin texture.

Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day Cream with SPF

We especially love the formula of this Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day Cream! This product is a day cream but it also has SPF, making it the perfect morning moisturizer to wear under makeup. This cream helps prevent and reduce hyperpigmentation while keeping the skin hydrated and shielded from external aggressors. The texture is creamy and feels lovely on the skin, giving it a radiant glow that looks beautiful alone or is the perfect base for foundation. This is a chemical product so we always like to top it off with our Elta MD sunscreen.

Vichy Capital Soleil SPF

This sunscreen has a deeper tint and powdery finish, perfect for humid springs and summer! It is a face and body sunscreen with anti-aging benefits and contains volcanic water which has a unique combination of 15 rare minerals that give the ability to fortify and protect the skin from environmental aggressors. You’ll find no white residue with this sunscreen, just a non-greasy and soft-sheer finish that is ideal for all skin types. Truly, this SPF has such a beautiful finish and we’ve found that we need no foundation at all when we wear this one! This is another chemical sunscreen so we like to top it off with our Elta MD sunscreen.
