After quite some time in the making, I am so pleased to share that the Karina Style Diaries Studio is nearly done. I had been dreaming about having my own space for creating and working for quite some time, and I feel so blessed that this has finally become a reality.
I got the keys to the studio (aka office) back in February, but as you guys know, all things take time before they become what you envisioned. In between shooting content, I’ve been working hard to make the studio a cozy and welcoming space—and I’m almost there!
Many of you have seen bits and pieces of the office on my Instagram stories, and I’ve seen a lot of questions about specific finds in the space. I’ve been waiting until things have been more put-together and complete, and I’m excited to share all the details here with you. While it’s still not 100% done, I will be sure to update this post when I have more photos and links for the items I used.
Whether you’re just curious about the space or you’re in need of your own home refresh, I’m sharing all of my favorite minimalist office decor ideas below.
Starting with a blank canvas can be both exciting and overwhelming, but selecting your office furniture first and foremost will help you figure out exactly what style and vibe you’re going for. I was pleasantly surprised by how many chic pieces I found on Amazon, like this oak coffee table, and loved that the shipping was not only quick but that everything on the site was affordable.
Other Amazon finds that were totally worth it? This pretty, fluted console table (which is the perfect size for narrow spaces), these cane counter stools, and this upholstered (and adjustable) desk chair. Again, I was so pleased with the quality of these pieces and would highly recommend them regardless of your budget.
I did splurge a bit on the couch in the studio, since that’s one item that really should stand the test of time. It was an investment, but it’s so comfy and I love the way it balances out all the wood and cane details in the space.
I am certainly drawn to hardwood floors—I like the look, the feel, and the ease of cleaning that they provide. However, with that being said, there’s something about a big area rug that instantly makes a place feel more “homey.”
In the KSD studio, I went with this uniquely patterned shag rug. It brings just the right amount of visual interest into the main room while still maintaining a neutral feel. It also scores bonus points for being so soft and cozy!
I’m linking a handful of minimalist style rugs, along with some Moroccan inspired picks, below.
After nailing down some of the bigger purchases for the office, the next task (and probably the most fun) was to decorate with smaller accessories. Even the little things, like lamps, mirrors, vases, and coffee table books can transform your space, so be sure to go all out in this category.
One non-negotiable I had when looking for an office space was that whatever I chose had to have a kitchen (even if it was just a small one.) I’ve really enjoyed having a designated area where I can eat a quick lunch, make a cup of coffee, or indulge in a mid-afternoon snack.
I didn’t need to do too much decorating in this particular part of the studio, but I wanted to share some of the items I stocked the kitchen with. All of these would be great staples for a home kitchen as well!
Last but not least…the bathroom! While I know it can feel a bit uninspiring to decorate a bathroom, it’s still a spot that’s worthy of some sprucing up. Showcase your personality with cute bath towels, a stylish shower curtain, or a feminine bath rug.
You can also decorate your countertops with pieces that are both functional and chic, like a marble canister for housing makeup, or a soap dish that’s not an eyesore.
