My Current Night Routine

post featured image

Hello friends!

A few weeks back I put together my morning routine and loved telling you more about how I set myself up for success at the beginning of the day. Plus, I got some great feedback! Because it was so fun sharing my current morning routine, I decided to put together my night routine! Just like in the morning, I think it’s important to have nightly rituals we do to wind down and ensure we’re taking some time for ourselves. I think having these healthy habits is great for our mental health and also tells our bodies when it’s time to relax. I know doing my nightly routine is something I always look forward to so I wanted to share it with you!

MY NIGHT ROUTINE

Do my evening skincare

Of course, it couldn’t be a proper night routine without skincare! I have tried countless products to find what works best for me, and right now, these products I’m using are my go-tos.

I start off with my Makeup Eraser to get all of my makeup off before I go in with cleanser. I just get it wet and gently wipe away my makeup to prep my skin.

Next, I wash my face with cleanser. Right now I am using Dr. Barbara Strum Cleanser which has been amazing! It’s a super gentle, foaming cleanser that doesn’t disturb the skin’s pH balance and worth every penny.

After cleansing, I use the SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E Serum. It’s a nighttime antioxidant serum made with pure resveratrol to reveal visible radiance and firmness.

Then, I moisturize with the SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5 Refining Night Cream. This night cream is amazing because it has retinol in it (eliminates that extra step) which is great for lessening the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. My favorite for evening!

Lastly, I use the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 242. This is an anti-aging facial treatment with essential lipids for mature skin types. It helps smooth skin texture and increase moisture levels leaving skin supple, healthy, and radiant! So far, I love it and definitely think it’s worth adding to your nightly routine.

Everyone’s skin is different so make sure you look for products based on your own skin type and concerns, but these products have worked super well for me and I definitely recommend if you’re looking for something new!

Brush my hair

Every night before bed I make sure to brush out my hair. It might seem simple, but I’ve found that it’s helped my hair health and when I wake up my hair isn’t as crazy or tangled! I use the  Detangler Brush by Fiora Naturals which has super soft bristles that detangle without breakage to your hair.

Take my supplements

I also take my supplements every night before bed. Taking them in the evening apart of my night routine helps me remember to actually take them! I’ve tried taking them in the morning and I’ve found it’s a lot easier for me to forget to take them which kind of defeats the purpose if you’re not consistent with supplements. If you want to know more about the specific supplements I take, let me know!!

Put my phone away

I try to be off my phone by 9 PM every night! I usually put it on the charger away from my bed so I’m not tempted to look at it or check it if a notification comes through. I’ve found this has helped me sleep better since my brain isn’t being stimulated right before I go to sleep. According to SCL Health, using our phones before bed is harmful to our overall health for these 4 reasons:

  • Blue light is harmful to our eyes
  • Increases alertness at night
  • Compromises alertness the next morning
  • Reduces the total amount of REM sleep

If you want to read more about this, check out the article here. I’m not perfect with this every night, but I’m trying to be better about it!

Do some reading

Every night I do some reading! This helps me stay off my phone, unwind, and get sleepy. Plus, reading in bed is so cozy and relaxing, especially if you have a book you love! Right now I’m reading The Sky is Falling by Sidney Sheldon and I’m absolutely loving it!

After reading I go to sleep! My routine is pretty simple but it keeps things super manageable for me and is the best way for me to unwind before bed. Let me know what other routines you’d like to see in the comments! Xo
