If you’ve been following along with me on Instagram stories then you likely know that I have been doing quite a bit of travel lately. I actually just got back from a trip to Paris (which is the dreamiest destination to visit this time of year — more to come on that front soon!)
I feel like fall marks the start of a busy travel season for so many people. Between autumn trips and upcoming holiday vacations, a lot of us will be spending a good chunk of time in airports and on airplanes.
If there’s one thing I need for a successful day of travel, it’s a comfortable outfit. What you wear on a long travel day is crucial to the overall experience. Let’s face it — no one wants to be stuck on a plane in tight jeans or in an outfit that leaves you feeling too hot or cold.
Planning your travel outfits ahead of time is the key to ensuring that you have a smooth and comfy day. Below, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite travel sets and the best travel outfits for fall. Bon voyage!
I was recently introduced to Frank & Eileen travel sets and they are now my favorite brand for quality, on-the-go outfits. Frank & Eileen is a slow fashion company that combines the finest raw materials that are ethically and sustainability sourced — a major win in my book!
This set features an oversized hoodie which has side slits, making it super easy to tuck into your pants. The sweatpants are super comfy and have tons of pockets. You could wear this alone or layer it with a long cardigan.
I’m loving this sage color right now — it’s so perfect for the fall. The sweatshirt has a raw hem and a collared v-neck design while the matching sweatpants have a cute, cropped look.
I layered this set with an oversized camel blazer and a baseball hat, which is ideal for a long airplane ride.
This polished set is another Frank & Eileen find and it’s made with extra cozy fleece material. I’m also really digging this evergreen color for the autumn season and think it would transition nicely into the winter.
A funnel neck sweater is a classic fall staple. This one is made with super soft cotton and has the prettiest knit texture. Trust me, it’s so buttery soft that you won’t want to take it off.
For those times when you have to go from the airport to an event, this denim button-up shirt is a good go-to. Style it with a nice pair of leggings and sneakers or boots for a polished yet comfy look.
If you’re shopping on a budget, this Amazon find is for you. It comes in a ton of colors and is under $50. The balloon sleeve detailing adds a fun touch and the loose fit is ideal for plane rides.
This is another Amazon find that would go with pretty much everything. The oversized fit is so appealing for travel days. Plus, the 6,000 4.5-star reviews speak volumes about the quality.
In my opinion, you can never have too many zip hoodies. I own this one and have been impressed with how well it has held up over time. It has a slightly oversized fit and is sure to keep you nice and warm.
These joggers match the hoodie above. I like that they’re full length but also appreciate that they have an elastic ankle design so they can be scrunched up for a shorter look.
I don’t think there’s a more perfect sweatshirt for travel days. The design says it all!
Black leggings are a closet staple, but they’re especially important to have for travel. I’ve been drawn to the flare legging look lately and feel like it’s so on-theme for the fall season.
This fleece half-zip is the best for layering. Throw a long sleeve t-shirt on underneath or add a denim jacket or coatigan over it for some extra warmth.
I’d pair these dark brown leggings with the half-zip above for a rich, fall look. If you haven’t tried any leggings from this brand yet, this is your sign to. They are super flattering and wash well.
These Veja sneakers are my favorite travel shoes. I like that they offer decent support and think they are so comfortable for all-day wear.
Every seasoned traveler knows that a baseball cap is the key to getting away with traveling with unstyled hair. This one is adorable and is neutral enough to go with a variety of outfits.
