Outfits for Wine Tastings, Dinners, and Everything In Between
There’s something about Napa that makes getting dressed feel a little more intentional.
Between wine tastings, slow mornings, dinners that turn into long conversations, and everything in between, your outfits naturally shift throughout the day. I always try to pack pieces that feel comfortable but still a bit elevated, things that work for travel, but also feel right once you arrive.
For this trip, I leaned into a mix of denim, soft knits, and a few pieces that felt a little more styled for evenings. I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what I wore, so I’m sharing all of my Napa outfits here, from travel days to winery looks and dinners.
I always like to start a trip feeling comfortable but still polished. For this airport outfit, I wore my go-to jeans lately, the Kick It jeans, which have been on repeat. They’re easy, flattering, and work for long travel days. I paired them with a simple top and layered a Zara trench coat over everything to pull the look together.
It’s one of those outfits that feels effortless, but still looks put together when you arrive.

The next morning was a spa appointment followed by a quick coffee run, so I wanted something that felt easy.
I wore a neutral rib knit polo mini dress with gold button details, which felt both comfortable and put together. It’s the kind of piece that works for a slower morning but still feels polished enough if the day unfolds into something more. These are the outfits I always appreciate most when traveling, simple, comfortable, and easy to wear.

For a winery picnic, I leaned into something that felt a little more seasonal. I wore a matching set with a long sleeve top and shorts, paired with a hat that really finished the look. It felt light, easy, and perfect for being outdoors.
This is what I picture when I think about a Napa wine tasting outfit, something relaxed but still styled, and comfortable enough to move through the day.

For one of our evenings, I wore a combination I’ve been loving lately, brown and blue.
I styled Reformation Zia pants with a ruched sleeveless button-down top, and of course added my blue cashmere sweater. I’ve been talking about this sweater a lot lately, and for good reason, it’s one of those pieces that just works with everything.
If you missed it, I shared a full post on how to style a blue cashmere sweater year round, and this was another example of how easily it fits into different outfits. It’s a color combination that feels soft, but still elevated, especially for dinner.

This look felt a little more dressed up, but still comfortable.
I paired an elevated knit with a bubble skirt and layered a cashmere sweater over it, which made the whole outfit feel balanced. It’s the kind of look that works for a special lunch without feeling overdone.
For something like a Napa winery outfit, I always try to find that balance between elevated and easy.

For bowling and a more relaxed dinner, I went back to a formula I know works. I wore the same jeans from earlier in the trip and layered my Zara trench coat again. It’s simple, comfortable, and always feels put together.
There’s something to be said for having a few go-to pieces that you can restyle throughout a trip, it makes packing so much easier.

For dinner that night, I kept the same jeans and styled them up a bit. I paired them with the cutest black mesh corset top and added a jacket, which instantly changed the feel of the outfit. It’s one of those combinations that feels a little more styled, but still very wearable.
I love how the structure of the corset balances with the ease of the denim, and the extra layer pulls everything together in a way that feels put together.

For the flight home, I wanted something that still felt comfortable, but a little different.
I wore white Aritzia pants paired with a pink cable knit sweater, which added just the right amount of color. It felt fresh, easy, and perfect for wrapping up the trip.

Trips like this always remind me how important it is to pack pieces that work together. Nothing felt overly complicated, everything layered well, and I was able to restyle the same pieces in different ways throughout the trip. That’s always the goal for me, outfits that feel effortless, comfortable, and still like me.
Napa has this way of slowing things down just enough to enjoy the details, the views, the meals, and even the outfits. And honestly, that’s what made this trip feel so special.
I’d love to know, what would you wear for a Napa wine tasting weekend?
