Last week I took a trip to Chicago for a work related training. I have to say I LOVE this kind of trips, they are short and sweet. Enough to get us out of the everyday routine and obviously if you know me, it’s a huge opportunity to shop! Let’s just say that Indy doesn’t offer a wide range of options when it comes to shopping so I’m thrilled when I get to go elsewhere.
As a quick note we stayed at the Renaissance Blackstone and coincidentally enough I had stayed at the very same hotel a few years ago when I took a trip up there to meet SJP with Kris, my bff. Yes!!! If you haven’t checked that post click HERE and watch the video HERE.
Upon arriving, my work partner Tammy and I just wanted to rush out and walk around Michigan Ave. aka Magnificent Mile. We mainly wanted to hit Zara and Saks. And I wanted to check out Dana Reed jewelry booth inside Michigan Ave mall. I discovered her designs while browsing there with Antonio last year and have since loved wearing her spike necklaces (also had a handful of friends ordering them too, she hand makes all of them).
We made it to Zara and as it happens sometimes nothing really worked ???? I think I was too excited and had too many excpectations…plus the fact that I need to clean out my closet played a big part in not finding anything I loved enough to take. But here’s a shot of the pieces I enjoyed the most…but own similar pieces already.
Next we headed to Saks, mind you none of us were planning to actually buy anyhting. We just wanted to check things out…and this happened ????
Chanel espandrilles…I’ve been wanting a pair of them like FOREVER…not necessarily the sequin style but the leather or canvas one but hey this looked sooo cute with my look and my tanned legs. Yeah I hate to admit I can be pretty shallow when it comes to shopping, I forget about everything (including the fact that I’ll be bringing lunch everyday for two months). But they are mine!! Woohoo (insert a little dance!!)
Can u see that smile! Ha!!
Shop the look:
My flats are Zara and are completely sold out. Follow the link up here for some of my recommendations!
After shopping we had dinner at Bella Bacinos restaurant at Wacker St. Pretty reasonable pricing with outside seating by the River Walk.
We sat down around 7 and left around 10! It was a fun dinner 🙂
That was our view. Bad photos, good intentions!!
Next day we had class all day with lots of new goodies coming. After class we fullfilled the starbucks addiction and headed back home!
Special thanks to Tammy for being a sweet pal and taking my pics, and for being a great company! ♥︎
I made back home pretty late at night so next morning I woke up to this sweetest package from Pur Cosmetics, boy they treat me so well!! I received the Pur Selfie 2 palette and am currently planning on creating a look tutorial for you guys!! Do you like makeup videos at all? Feel free to let me know here. Some people prefer a blog post with instructions and photos. What’s your preference?!
