Hello friends! We are fully in the swing of summer so that means vacation time! Have you seen how crazy the airports have been lately? I know we’re all feeling ready to take some well-deserved R & R, so whether you’re taking a trip far away or going somewhere for the weekend, I rounded up the best summer vacation spots to give you a little guide! I’ve fortunately been able to travel to a lot of fun places, so if you need a little help on where to go this summer, let this be your guide. Let’s get into it!
My hubby and I came here for a quick weekend getaway and we absolutely fell in LOVE with this sweet little town! It was absolutely beautiful and had a little bit of everything so you’re never bored, there’s always something new to do and see. Even just strolling around the shops and restaurants was amazing.
We stayed at the Pearl Hotel which was so beautiful and had a gorgeous ocean view! We even had a turn-down service each night and they left little treats for us for when we got back from dinner. I really can’t recommend this hotel enough!
I could go on and on about the different places to eat, but one of my faves was Pescado. The food was so good and definitely worth the hype. We sat inside since it was a little chilly while we were there but they do have a rooftop bar with amazing views of the ocean!
I have SO many more recommendations and places to eat, go, and stay over on my Rosemary Beach Travel Guide, check it out here!
This trip was one we did as a family and it was a blast. There is so much to do for the entire family, which means everyone is happy! Beach and pool are obvious choices. Kids played ball and swam a lot. Hunny Buns and I went for a walk a couple of mornings while sipping coffee. As a family, we loved riding bikes along the shore, the beach is miles long, and lots of flat sand to ride on. We rode for almost 10 miles and that was amazing!
We stayed at the Omni Hilton Head which was affordable and family-friendly! We had a partial ocean view and it was lovely. The hotel offered adult pools and jacuzzis, kids could check out volleyball, football, and other pool activities for free, but they also have bikes and paddle boards for rent.
Let’s talk food… it was DELIGHTFUL!!!! It reminded us of NOLA, French-American, and lots of fresh seafood. Our favorite restaurant for dinner was Alfred’s, highly recommended by friends who visit the Island often.
If you want to read more on Hilton Head, check out this guide I created with the full rundown of our trip, plus a TON of other recommendations!
Another great getaway for families is New Buffalo! This destination is especially enticing for my Indy peeps since we’re so close to it, so it’s a great long weekend trip. Brian and I have been going here for years and always have such a great time, we love it because we get that feeling of being at the beach.
We stayed at the Marina Grand Resort, which was so stunning and gave a view of the lake or the marina from all rooms. It has a full kitchen, a bedroom, a full bath, and a half bath, along with a pull-out couch, so PERFECT for families. If you’re just taking a trip as a couple, we’ve also stayed at The Lake Country Inn which was lovely.
Brewster’s is one of my all-time favorite spots to eat. Even my mom has been and loved. It’s right across the street from the Lake Country Inn and it always has a waitlist because the food is amazing! Their garden seating is wonderful and it makes you feel like you’re in Italy!!
I have even more restaurants, places to stay, and things to do in my New Buffalo Guide, including the details on our sunset sailing trip. Check it out!
I could go on and on about all of the amazing places to visit this summer, so if you’re looking for additional options to explore, check out more of my travel guides! I put together itineraries, outfit inspiration, best recommendations, and more!
