My Summer Fridays Review (Plus, the Brand’s Best Products)

post featured image

I’ve been on a roll lately with the skincare and makeup reviews, and one brand that I’m frequently asked about is Summer Fridays. From a quick glance, their lineup is appealing because everything comes in such pretty packaging—they also have clever product names that make them sound so luxe. But is Summer Fridays a good brand?

To put it bluntly, there are some products from Summer Fridays that I am a big fan of, and others that are just okay. This is pretty much the norm with every brand, especially since skincare and makeup finds are so personalized (ex: What one person loves might not work for another persons skin type.)

In an effort to help you sort through all the products this female-founded brand offers, as well as give you insight on what’s worth adding to your cart, I’m sharing a complete run-down on their most popular items. This includes a Jet Lag Mask review, Lip Butter Balm review, Dream Lip Oil review, and more.

The brand has also introduced a new eye cream to their lineup, the Jet Lag Overnight Eye Serum, and I’m planning to order it and test it out. Once I reach a verdict on that specific product, I’ll be sure to update this post with my thoughts!

For now, here’s my honest Summer Fridays review, including the best Summer Fridays products as well as what I’d do without.

Summer Fridays Review

Summer Fridays Rich Cushion Cream

I’m going to kick this review off on a good note: If I had to choose only one Summer Fridays product to use, this Cushion Cream would be it. While this is a relatively new-to-me skincare find, I have been loving it ever since I first opened the jar.

I definitely struggle with dry skin (especially during the winter months) but this cream has been a total game changer. My skin has felt so much more hydrated and the texture of it is so much more plump and smooth since I incorporated it into my routine.

For the price point ($52), this moisturizer feels incredibly luxurious and rich. A little bit goes a long way and it sinks into your skin with ease.

Aside from providing a hefty dose of hydration, some of the benefits of using the Cushion Cream include: minimized fine lines and wrinkles, increased firmness and skin elasticity, and a stronger skin barrier.

You can apply this to clean skin in the morning or at night—or both if your skin needs some extra TLC.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

I’d be shocked if you hadn’t heard of the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask yet. This cult-favorite product has had a lot of hype surrounding it since it originally launched. It has nearly 5,000 4-star reviews on Sephora if that gives you any indication as to how popular it is.

While I love the concept around this mask (which can certainly be used while traveling but also is great for everyday application), I would say it is just “fine” in my book. It’s something that I have found nice to have on hand yet I wouldn’t run to repurchase it.

One perk that I will mention is that it can be used as a mask, moisturizer, or both. You could apply a thicker layer to your skin when it needs a pick me up, let it sit, then rub it in later. It’s also fragrance free, which I always appreciate.

If you’re still curious about this product but don’t want to commit to the full-size tube, try the mini version.

Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint

I’m the first to admit that I’m picky about all the skincare and makeup products I use, but if there’s one thing I’m particularly choosy about, it’s tinted moisturizers and foundations.

When I use a foundation or tinted product, I want it to provide good coverage while feeling lightweight. I also give bonus points to skin tints that are long-wearing and that offer skincare perks. While I realize the Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint is just meant to offer light coverage, I felt like it came short of even that. It just didn’t do enough for me (and in turn felt a bit pointless.)

I suppose that if you don’t have any skincare concerns and you really just want something very, very light to add to your routine, this might work. As for me, I just don’t love it.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm

On a happier note, this Lip Butter Balm is definitely something I can get behind. It feels exactly as it sounds in terms of applying it—buttery soft. It’s also extremely shiny so a small amount is all you need to get a glam look.

You could use this balm just at night for more hydrated and healthy looking lips, or you could wear it as a pretty gloss on a night out.

It’s definitely moisturizing and makes my lips feel more smooth, and another bonus is that one tube lasts a very long time. However, compared to some other lip glosses on the market, this one is on the stickier end. While that doesn’t bother me, I know some people like to avoid that consistency.

Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil

If the Lip Butter sounds appealing but you want more color, then the Dream Lip Oil is for you. This product offers the perfect mix between high-shine, quality color, and deep hydration. It comes in four classic shades and glides on with ease.

Personally, I love that it gives me the combo of makeup and skincare in one simple step. Wear it daily or just pull it out of your cosmetic bag for special occasions or date nights. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

Summer Fridays Cloud Dew Gel Cream Moisturizer

The Cloud Dew Gel Cream Moisturizer is another one of the most popular Summer Fridays products. It promises a lot of the same benefits as the Cushion Cream (which I love), like increased hydration, softer and smoother skin, and a strengthened skin barrier.

With that being said, I’d reach for the Cushion Cream over this moisturizer because it just feels more luxe. Don’t get me wrong, this moisturizer is still a good option for hydrating your skin, so it’s worth a try, but if you’re trying to pick between this and the Cushion Cream, I’d go with the latter.

Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Mineral Milk Sunscreen

I remember there being a major frenzy when these ShadeDrops were first released. The product is a lightweight sunscreen that’s mineral based and protects your skin from UV rays.

Finding a good facial sunscreen is no easy feat because so many of them leave a weird film behind or make your skin look greasy throughout the day. That’s not the case with this option. It doesn’t leave a white cast behind and somehow makes your skin look a bit glowy. It’s easy to apply (and reapply) and it’s easy to wear makeup on top of.

If you’re struggling to find a go-to SPF for everyday wear, this one is definitely worth a shot. I also like that it’s formulated with squalane, a smoothing and plumping ingredient, as well as antioxidants, which protect from free-radical damage.

Summer Fridays Dream Oasis Deep Hydration Serum

Deep hydration is a must year-round, but it’s especially important if you have dry skin or if your complexion is generally on the more sensitive side.

What I love about this product is that it’s a serum rather than a moisturizer, so you really could layer this under your daily moisturizer for more intense hydration. This can be particularly useful during the fall and winter months, when transitional weather can wreck havoc on your skin.

On top of the hydration benefits you can reap from the Dream Oasis Serum, it’s also made with calming ingredients that can combat redness and irritation (two things that often come along with dry skin.)
