Hey boys and gals, it’s been a hot minute but I’m here. Alive, positive (with a couple of struggles here and there) and working on the healthy side of things. Initially, this post was supposed to be about the cutest summer graphic tees from Sassy Queen Boutique. But as life has it’s surprising ways, it turns out I’ll be going to more deep subjects.
First things first, summer graphic tees are a great canvas to any outfit and a way of making a statement or show off your personality in a cute way! Sassy Queen Boutique has a great selection of fun and entertaining phrases for all tastes and interests. Their differential, however, is that you can select the color of fabric, the color of letters, the shape (muscle tee, crew neck, etc) and so many options to customize your summer graphic tees!
I decided to start this story with the “Swear On Chanel” Carrie Bradshaw tee for obvious reasons (Big CB Fan!!!). I like the crew neck short sleeve tee style for spring and summer and black and white makes it easier to put looks together. I’d wear it with some great high waisted jeans, shorts or joggers. I’ve worn it with leather leggings for a happy hour with my girlfriends and with a denim skirt for a shopping trip. For this shot, I went with a little tweed cropped jacket à la Chanel to dress up the cut-off shorts!
Staying in the designer vibe, I got this “It’s Dior, Darling” tee in black with gold letters. It takes me back to the 80’s era of Versace and it’s also a fun piece to dress up!
I’m wearing size XS on all of them. Up a size, if you’re in between sizes. I always like my tees on the loose side 🙂
And since we’re talking Dior I thought I would wear some of my Dior Beauty Favorites. Tutorial/Review anyone?!
I wore mine with a leather legging and the same black strappy heels from the previous outfit. Dangling earrings for accessories. I would also pair this tee with a pleated or a pencil skirt too. Distressed black denim would add a bit of an edge. I like rolling my sleeves for a more laid-back look.
Next up is one I’ll be definitely wearing again soon. I envisioned the “Birthday Girl” tee with a puffy tulle skirt and pink balloons but had to settle for a unicorn cupcake from the Lemon Bar and a sparkly mini…I know, not too bad!
When I say they have summer graphic tees for every occasion I’m not lying! I wanted a muscle tee to work out and just love the “Run Now, Wine Later” it’s extra soft and breathable, perfect for a run, gym and even to wear with a cute tank underneath and cut-offs too. I like tying my gym tees in a knot so they are not exposing the unnecessary! Hehehe happy to see this one has enough material to tie the knot but also looks super cute loose 🙂
I went with another neutral color so I could wear any bottoms, printed or solid and it wouldn’t clash. I got lots of questions about these work out pants when I posted on my stories. It’s an XS, runs true to size and its SUPER COMFY. Mid waist with back zipper pocket. 100% recommend it!
Lastly, I picked the “Blessed” tee, funny enough it was before I knew what God’s plans were for me. I wore it to church that morning and paired with white jeans and my silver shoes! It was such a beautiful day we ended up going for ice cream!
Needless to say, I adore these summer graphic tees but what I adore the most is the owner of this shop, Diana. She’s been one of the nicest clients I have, and in the ups and downs of life, we receive love and prayers from the most unexpected people. And it’s amazing.
Let’s talk life for a sec. If you follow along with my socials you probably already know I’ve been diagnosed with Breast cancer a couple weeks ago. This Instagram post explains the beginning (and in all honesty, I wrote a gigantic post last night and it didn’t save….so I’ll go over this quickly, I just want to make it official on the blog).
We are currently looking at dates for the surgery and decided on a double mastectomy. I was praying (and asking all of you who offered to pray) for an Estrogen positive outcome since that’s a type of cancer that doesn’t typically require chemo as a choice of treatment. Well, prayers were answered and God came through big time! The results of the biopsy were 95% Estrogen and 95% Progesterone positive and HER 2 negative. That is good news, but we’ll only be 100% sure I won’t need extra treatment once the tumors are removed and sent to the lab for more testings. One thing is for sure, I’ll have to be on a hormone control medicine for 10 years since this cancer is hormone-based (meaning it feeds off hormones) we basically have to shut down its food supply in case any cancer cells are left in my body. Everything else is pretty much up in the air at this point.
So, as you can probably tell life’s been nothing short of a roller coaster, but I see so much more good than bad in this situation. In this few weeks since I came out with the news I have received SO MANY messages of encouragement from ladies who have been on this road or have a loved one who’s been through it. I just want to take the time to thank you all so so much, and to reinforce how I see/feel God showering me with his blessings in every minute of this diagnosis. From being able to relate to readers I have never been able to, to receiving love and prayers from my awesome friends, my sweet family, and the loveliest strangers. I know it’s a long road and this is only the beginning but I also know we can make a choice every day to look at life as though everything is a miracle, and that’s the path I chose…I truly hope you’ll stay with me through it all.
Thank you, Diana and Sassy Queen Boutique for sponsoring this post and being so patient and understanding with my delays.
