post featured image

As most have us have probably realized by now, podcasts have become quite popular over the last few years! We love listening to a good podcast during a workout, a long drive, while cooking, or curled up on the couch for a little “me time”! If you’re like us, then you’re always on the hunt for new content to listen to! Or, maybe you’re new to the podcast world and aren’t sure where to start. Well, we have you covered! Whether you’re just getting into listening to podcasts or looking for new recommendations, check out our list of favorites for every genre!

Educational

Stuff You Should Know: This podcast is about… well… stuff you should know! The host educates listeners on a wide variety of topics. This is a fun one if you just like learning new things!

Call Me Curious – Each week the hosts dive into all the things you’ve heard of, but don’t really know about. They throw in some laughs as they explore life’s mysteries!

Self-Care and Self-Improvement

How to Fail: This is a podcast that celebrates the things that haven’t gone right. Every week, a new interviewee explores what their failures taught them about how to succeed better.

Where Should We Begin?: Esther Perel, a psychologist and expert on human relationships, conducts a single therapy session with a couple covering an issue they’re having. Even if it’s not directly relatable, there is always something to learn about connection, communication, and just humans in general!

HERself: Abby and Amy get vulnerable and real while covering the challenges and triumphs all women face and help you become the best version of yourself!

True Crime

Serial: Many consider this the OG of true crime podcasts! This podcast follows a single case over the course of an entire season. Season one (the best in our opinion!) covers the case of a high schooler convicted of murdering his girlfriend… but did he actually do it? The evidence might say otherwise!

Criminal: This podcast is hosted by Phoebe Judge and covers a different true crime story in each episode. The show describes itself as telling “stories of people who’ve done wrong, been wronged, or gotten caught somewhere in the middle.”

Morbid: In this podcast, an autopsy technician and a hair stylist dive into true crime, spooky history and other horrors with a dash of comedy mixed in!

Dr. Death: This is another podcast that covers a single case over an entire season. This one is a wild ride!

Pop Culture

Fed Up: This is a fun one to binge! This podcast covers a social media scandal about a shady diet scheme and the women involved.

Even the Rich: Each season covers the inside story of some of pop culture’s most rich and famous… think E True Hollywood story as a podcast, if you’re old enough to remember that show! 😉

Back to the Beach: Hello, nostalgia! This podcast is hosted by Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti from Laguna Beach. They rewatch the show and give us the inside scoop about each episode. Such a fun throwback!

Comedy

Armchair Expert: Okay, this one could also fit the educational and pop culture genres but the hosts are always sure to throw some comedy in! The hosts, Dax Shepard and Monica Padman, interview celebrities and experts on subjects ranging from parenting to psychology to finance and even wasps! The interviews are always interesting and there’s always something to learn!

Smartless – With a group of hosts including Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, & Will Arnett, you’re sure to get a few laughs out of each episode. The group interviews celebrities about their pasts and current projects they’re working on.

Story Telling

Something Was Wrong: In this podcast, people share shocking life events and how they’ve recovered from the trauma they’ve experienced. Each season of this podcast is a little different. Some seasons follow a single story over several episodes and some showcase a different story in each episode. From being catfished to elaborate scams, these stories are truly jaw-dropping!

The Secret Room: Host Ben Hamm interviews people about a secret they’ve never told anyone.

This is Actually Happening: In this podcast people share life-altering events they’ve experienced and the aftermath of those experiences. The host interviews people from all walks of life to find out what happens when everything changes.
