I don’t know about you but one of the things I love the most about this time of year is the fact that I can wear comfy clothes without feeling underdressed. I’m talking loungewear sets, cozy sweatpants, oversized sweaters—they’re all fair game in the midst of winter.
While I tend to wear these pieces while I’m relaxing at home, traveling, or running some quick errands, they certainly don’t need to stay limited to those activities.
If you’re mindful about the way you style loungewear, it can actually look quite chic. With just a little bit of effort and some additional staples from your closet, you can put together a cute and comfy look that’s perfect for meeting up with friends or jaunting around town.
Below, I’m sharing some simple loungewear outfit ideas that are sure to be your new go-to throughout this season.
Watch Here: 5 Ways to Style a Knit Set
I recently ordered this cream colored sweatsuit on Amazon and let me tell you, it’s soooo cozy. Getting a two-piece set that’s just under $50 is always a win in my book, and I love that this one is made with thicker material. It does come in a bunch of colors but I’m glad I went with something neutral so I could wear it with lots of closet staples.
This outfit is such a good go-to on days filled with errands and appointments. While the sweatsuit is laid back and comfortable, little details like the beige scarf and bucket bag make it feel more “styled” and put together.
I wanted to show you another way you could style the cream Amazon sweatsuit, and this idea is super easy. Just throw a coat over the set and add some sneakers and you’ll be ready to head out the door.
The layers make it a warm option to slip into during the winter and the accessories, like this shearling purse, make it feel more feminine.
I wore this look on an impromptu date night and would definitely make it a repeat. It was easy to put together but somehow felt elevated and chic (not to mention very cozy.) Also, a major bonus is that the exact sweater set I’m wearing is under $50.
Adding a simple pair of booties can take a loungewear set from super casual to put-together. Topping things with an oversized coat not only pulls it all together but is also practical.
One of my favorite places to find quality loungewear is Frank & Eileen. While their pieces are certainly more of a splurge, they last so long, wash up well, and provide you with a look that’s appropriate to wear out and about.
The cropped, fitted ankle on this set makes it easy to style with a variety of shoes. I went with shearling mules but you could also wear sneakers, flats, or slides depending on the occasion.
Also, you can never go wrong with throwing a blazer over a hoodie or sweater. It’s a fool-proof way to make an outfit look more polished.
There’s no denying that ballet flats have been highly on trend this season (particularly metallic flats) so when I saw this pair I knew I had to style them with a gray sweater set. To top things off, I added a darker gray coat and a matching beanie and scarf.
This look is ideal for extra cold days since there are so many layers to it. I also love that the silver shoes add a pop of shine and offer a slightly different feel to this outfit (aka a fancier feel.)
As if you needed another reason to love loungewear, the good news is that there are so many cute options out there—and at a variety of price points. It’s also easy to wear lounge sets and comfy tops throughout all seasons since you can go with pieces that are lightweight or that provide more warmth.
In case you need some inspo, here are some finds that I personally love or that I’m eyeing.
