My At-Home Facial Routine

post featured image

It’s no secret that I love to test out different makeup products, but the most important factor in achieving a fresh-faced look is having healthy, radiant skin. Without maintaining your complexion, makeup can only go so far. Having a clean and smooth canvas will make all the difference.

Taking proper care of your skin can feel like a lot of hard work, but I promise that it’s worth it. Plus, I know firsthand that it doesn’t have to be intimidating or overly time consuming. Once you start incorporating a more thoughtful skincare routine into your everyday life, you’ll likely crave the self-care time that comes along with it.

With the changing of seasons (and the cooler weather), I’ve been revamping my skincare routine a little bit. I like to take an extra five minutes or so each week to give myself an at-home facial. It always leaves my skin feeling fresh and looking glowy.

If you want to replicate my DIY facial on your own, I’m outlining exactly how to do it. All of the products I use for my mini facial are from one of my favorite French skincare brands — Tata Harper. I hope you find this helpful and that you take the time to indulge in some much-needed solo time.

How to do a 5-Minute Facial

Regenerating BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

If you want a cleanser that really packs a punch, this is it. Rather than just slough off dirt and makeup, this cleanser goes deep to buff and polish your skin.

It has a beaded texture which makes it the perfect “special” cleanser for an at-home facial. Also, it smells so good and will make you feel like you’re at a spa.

Purifying Pore & Blackhead Detox Cleanser

If you aren’t a fan of beaded cleansers, this is a great alternative. It works equally as hard to deliver radiant results, but it’s a bit more gentle on skin than the exfoliating cleanser.

It’s made with a gel to oil formulation that feels so luxe when you apply it. It will help purge your pores of any build-up and can be used on a daily basis.

Resurfacing BHA Mask for Brightening and Dark Spots

After cleansing your face, apply a mask to do some deeper work. This is one of my favorites.

It’s made with pink clay and pomegranate enzymes which work to absorb oil, refine pores, remove dead skin cells, and smooth an uneven skin texture. Simply leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. You can use this mask up to three times per week.

Retinol Face Oil with Vitamin A for Anti-Aging and Brightening

There’s no denying that retinol is a must-use ingredient for anti-aging. It can be tricky to find one that doesn’t irritate your skin, and I’ve had really good luck with this.

It has worked wonders on my melasma and I am so glad that I added it to my skincare lineup. If you have any pesky spots on your skin, like hyperpigmentation, sun spots, or melasma, I’d definitely recommend giving this a try.

Water-Lock Refillable Moisturizer

I am a huge fan of this moisturizer because it always leaves my skin so bouncy, hydrated and glowy. It’s super lightweight yet leaves my skin feeling so refreshed. I use this as the last step in my mini facial routine.

p.s. It also makes a perfect base for makeup application.

If you want to test out this routine in a condensed yet still impactful way, give this 5-Minute Facial kit a whirl. It comes with a mini Regenerating Cleanser and Resurfacing Mask so you can see how the products work with your skin texture — it’s also the perfect set to bring with you while you travel!
